What is The Spa Association?
The Spa Association is your one-stop organization for information, industry resources, education, and community connections in the spa industry. No other organization unites medical spas, day spas, resorts, hotel spas, and wellness centers. SPAA is the premier association for spa owners and business-to-business providers.
SPAA offers educational materials, group health insurance, professional liability insurance, publicity connections, an informative quarterly newsletter, business tools and marketing materials. Recently, SPAA added a members only business center with even more legal forms, IRS information, human resources documents, imagery, marketing materials, profitability meters, articles and weekly tips. Fundamentally, The Spa Association is about making this profession more professional. That equates to image, education, regulation, and problematic issues like licensing and sanitation.
What are the benefits?
The Spa Association has three different levels for membership. We offer Silver, Gold and Platinum Membership Levels based on the selection of benefits offered. Silver is the standard membership package, Gold is the classic membership package and Platinum is premium membership package offering all of the benefits offered by SPAA.
The Spa Association has close to 5,000 members, which include a diverse array of medical spas, day spas, resorts, hotel spas, fitness centers, hospitals and wellness centers. The Spa Association understands that each member has unique needs. We feel that the various levels of membership allow all of our members to pick and choose those benefits that best fit their needs, consequently we have created three membership levels to meet each facility’s specific requirements. Regardless of your area of specialization, The Spa Association is a must have resource to ensure explosive success for your business.
Silver Membership ($199.00 Annually)
The Silver Membership package is our standard membership package and offers these benefits:
Membership Acknowledgement Members can assure their customers that their business is at the leading edge of the spa industry by displaying the SPAA logo in your advertising, phone book listings, menus, visual displays and other promotional materials. A membership certificate for framing and decals for store windows are also provided. Member Newsletter Stay in touch with the latest SPAA and industry news through periodic e-mail newsletters.
Forum Ask for information, initiate a discussion on a spa management problem or share a tip for others on our forum bulletin board.
Industry News and Calendar Use our website to keep in touch with the latest industry news, events and conferences. VIP passes to trade shows and trade show discounts are included in our informational packet on choosing tradeshows wisely and making the most of your time while at a tradeshow.
Free Spa Music CDs Receive free spa music CD’s as available from vendor members specializing in creating serene acoustical environments at spas.
Free and Discounted Periodicals Over 20 industry publications will be sent to you free, discounted or as a sampling with this level of membership. Find out immediately what is new and happening in the industry with articles on treatments, business strategy, success stories and ingredient information. Retail Help Kit With our new member kit enjoy a retail boost with our booklet on strategically selling homecare as well as a software booster program that runs with any type of operating system.
Posting in Our Consumer Area Get the word out about your spa to spa addicts. Placement in our consumer area is complimentary with this level of membership. Discounts to other search engine styled sites are also applied.
Gold Membership ($299.00 Annually)
The Gold Membership Package contains all of the benefits from the Silver Membership Package and offers several additional benefits:
Recruiting Blast Members can submit job listings simply by filling in an online form in our member’s area.
Enhanced Consumer Posting Kick it up a notch with a larger consumer posting featuring beautiful visuals, a link to your website and a link to your menu.
Search Engine Evaluation Members can request an internet search engine evaluation and receive suggestions for modifying their website to improve search results.
Discounted Credit Card Processing SPAA members have access to special quotes for credit card processing
Rotating Banner Ads Spa industry vendors can submit a banner ad for rotation on the SPAA website. Spas at this membership level are featured in the consumer section of the site.
Insurance Discounts Members are eligible for special quotes on employee health, dental and life insurance. Professional liability insurance is also a part of this benefit.
Platinum Membership ($399.00 Annually)
The Platinum Membership Package is the premium membership level. It contains all of the benefits from the Gold and Silver Membership Packages and offers several extra benefits including:
SPAA Poll Results Members have access to extended summaries of polling data collected through the SPAA website. Our polls cover a number of topics and attract both consumer and trade attention. These reports are sent bi-annually via email and can give your spa a leg up on the competition.
Business Center Our business resource area is a coded area open only to Platinum level members. Our business center is like having a virtual back office. We understand that all spas need real resources to improve their bottom line. Our business center offers just that. Resources include: Employee Manual forms, IRS rules and forms, PR contacts, Human Resources tools, cutting edge articles and news leads, Operations forms, Management tips, Visual Imagery, Marketing materials and more!
Education and Business Tools SPAA produces several educational and business toolkit products per year free to its members. These are designed to help spa managers and owners better address issues in areas such as marketing, sales, customer satisfaction, employee performance, profitability and business planning. These tools are presented in a downloadable format in the Platinum level membership area.
Group Press Releases Seeking more media attention for your business? You can promote your new products and services by taking part in our group press release to the editors of spa/salon trade magazines and consumer health, fitness, beauty, fashion, travel and leisure magazines. These press releases are sent as links and are presented to editors on a monthly basis.
E-Mail Marketing On a yearly basis your spa will be featured in our newsletter. Complimentary coaching is offered to assure that your message is heard.
Marketing Assistance Ad slicks, visuals, tips on getting the word out and a list of publicists, PR firms, marketing gurus, free publications and more allow your spa to get noticed.
Vendor Membership ($499.00 Annually)
The Spa Association understands that vendors have unique needs so we have created a membership package to accommodate their specific demands. We offer the following benefits to our vendors with the vendor membership.
Access to Mailing List Twice a year your company can send a mass mailing through a third party mailing house. Just tell us your target market and we can create a list that meets your specific needs.
Rotating Banner Ads Spa industry vendors can submit a banner ad for rotation on the SPAA website.
Member Newsletter Stay in touch with the latest SPAA and industry news through periodic e-mail newsletters. We will feature you once a year in our newsletter.
Product Referral List SPAA will add your product to our product referral list. This list is distributed in our new member packet as well as faxed and emailed to those with enquiries regarding retail and treatment product options in their spa.
Regional Educational Roundtables Member vendors are encouraged to supplement our educational roundtables with preferred educators and topics.
Featured in New Annual Directory This informative guide to everything spa will have articles, tips, current spa data from our upcoming study, lists of distributors, vendors, spa start up guide, menu suggestions, how to for treatments, management tips, pay structure options, a mini catalog, and other valuable data. We will be handling these out at trade shows, mailing them out to our 19k list of active leads and to our members, a physical mailing of around 25K total. A version of this will also be available online. Members will receive a 25% discount on advertising and will receive an automatic listing.
